Telangana DGP CV Anand Praises Boxer and DSP Nikhat Zareen During Hyderabad Meeting

On Monday, elite Indian boxer and Telangana Police Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nikhat Zareen met with the newly appointed Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand in Hyderabad. The meeting was held to congratulate DGP Anand on officially assuming charge as the state's new police chief.
During the interaction, Nikhat Zareen expressed her confidence that under C.V. Anand's leadership, the state of Telangana would continue to excel. She noted that the state would progress not only in maintaining law and order but also in actively promoting sports.
DGP Anand highly praised the boxer's accomplishments. He stated, "Her sporting excellence is well recognised, and she has represented India with distinction in international boxing competitions. She exemplifies the perseverance and determination that every young sportsperson can aspire to."
The meeting also served to reinforce the connection between sports and policing, highlighting discipline and physical fitness as shared values between the two demanding fields. Additionally, the interaction aimed to inspire young athletes across the country.
The DGP also recalled his past association with Nikhat Zareen's family. He shared that he had played cricket with her father, Jameel Khan, during his tenure as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Nizamabad district of Telangana.
Speaking on her journey, DGP Anand said that Zareen's career is a reminder that excellence is built on discipline, physical fitness, mental resilience, and a constant determination to improve. He highlighted that these qualities are indispensable in both sport and policing.
DGP Anand encouraged the boxer to stay focused and continue inspiring young athletes across the country. "I am confident she will bring many more laurels to Telangana, India and the Telangana Police. I wish her strength and success in every bout ahead," the DGP said.
