Telangana Delegation to Visit Philippines to Study Overseas Labour Welfare Practices

A high-level delegation comprising Telangana MLAs and members of the Telangana NRI's Advisory Committee is scheduled to visit the Philippines from August 17 to 21 to examine labour laws, migration patterns, and worker welfare practices.

The study tour has been organized as the Telangana state government moves forward with plans to establish a dedicated Gulf and Other Overseas Workers Welfare Board. The visit aims to gather insights on policy frameworks that can help resolve challenges encountered by Telangana workers employed in Gulf nations and other overseas regions.

During their visit to Manila, the delegation will engage in formal discussions with officials from the Indian Embassy in Manila as well as specialists and experts working in the field of labour migration and welfare.

According to a statement issued by Advisory Committee member Swadesh Parikipandla, the official delegation will include Telangana NRI's Advisory Committee Chairman Dr B.M. Vinod Kumar and Vice-Chairman Manda Bheem Reddy.

The team will also feature Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas and Nizamabad Rural MLA Dr R. Bhupathi Reddy, alongside other members of the advisory committee.

The findings and observations from the Philippines tour are intended to inform and assist the state government in designing effective welfare mechanisms and institutional support systems for migrant workers.
