Telangana Congress to deploy supervisors for electoral roll revision

The Telangana Congress announced on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Hyderabad that it will deploy booth-level supervisors and constituency coordinators to address voter issues during the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The party plans to appoint one supervisor for every 10 polling booths and one coordinator for each Assembly constituency across the state to handle grievances at the grassroots level.

The decision was shared during a video conference held by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) with party leaders. The meeting was attended by Telangana Congress president Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC in charge Meenakshi Natarajan.

During the conference, Goud and Natarajan raised concerns over potential discrepancies in the voter lists. Both leaders alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission were jointly involved in "vote theft" across the country. They criticized the SIR of electoral rolls, calling it an undemocratic process designed to help the BJP come to power.

The leaders further alleged that there is a possibility of vote theft occurring in Telangana as well. They urged party leaders across all constituencies to remain highly vigilant throughout the process.

To counter these issues, the party has instructed its Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to thoroughly scrutinize the ongoing voter-mapping exercise. The leadership urged agents to ensure every genuine voter is protected and to take immediate steps to restore any deleted names by submitting the necessary documents and applications to restore the voter's rights.

TPCC Election Commission Chairman Rajesh reported during the meeting that 90 percent of the BLA training programs have already been completed to prepare for the exercise.

The Special Intensive Revision in Telangana is scheduled to begin on June 15, 2026. The preparation of electoral rolls will take place from June 15 to June 24, followed by a house-to-house verification drive scheduled from June 25 to July 24, 2026.

According to a release by the TPCC, the party is arranging to resolve these issues through direct coordination with Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs).
