Telangana CM's CPRO G Malsur Faces Backlash for Attending Congress Meeting

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's Chief Public Relations Officer G Malsur has courted controversy after attending a Congress party meeting at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Objections have been raised from various quarters over how an official drawing a salary from the Telangana state government could participate in a political party meeting to share political views and strategic suggestions. Malsur took charge as the Chief Minister's CPRO in June last year.

The meeting was convened by Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, who recently took charge as the Chairman of the Congress party's Media and Publicity wing.

The controversy gained traction after Kiran Kumar Reddy shared photographs from the interaction on social media platform X. In his initial post, the MP stated that he had a valuable interaction with Congress PRO Hari Prasad and Telangana CMO CPRO G Malsur.

The MP added in the original post that they discussed key political issues, strategies for handling political debates and press conferences, and effective methods to develop strong fact-based content for public communication.

Following questions and objections raised by social media users over the government CPRO participating in a party session at Gandhi Bhavan, the MP deleted the post. He subsequently posted an updated message without Malsur's photograph, mentioning only a discussion with Gandhi Bhavan PRO Hari Prasad and the media team.

Several social media users strongly objected to Malsur's involvement in party affairs and appealed to Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju to put an end to what they termed an unethical and illegal practice.
