Telangana CJ Aparesh Kumar Singh Urges Judiciary to Serve Most Vulnerable

Telangana High Court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh called on the judiciary and the legal fraternity in Hyderabad to ensure their decisions make a tangible difference to the lives of the most vulnerable citizens.

Speaking after hoisting the National Flag, Justice Singh urged judges and lawyers to keep the "last man in the queue" in mind while discharging their duties, invoking Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy. He also asked members of the state judiciary to remember the sacrifices of soldiers who secure the nation's freedom.

Highlighting the progress made by the Telangana judiciary over the past year, the Chief Justice noted that the High Court received 90,357 cases and disposed of 80,020, achieving a disposal rate of approximately 88.5 per cent.

Justice Singh shared updates on judicial infrastructure across the state. Construction of Zone-II of the new High Court complex at Rajendranagar has reached about 20.25 per cent completion after its foundation stone was laid by Supreme Court Justice Surya Kant on April 5. A cultural centre at the High Court guest house near Ashok Vihar is also nearing completion. Additionally, work is underway on 11 of 13 priority district court complexes, comprising 43 court halls and 37 residential quarters across 18 projects, while eight new courts have already been inaugurated.

Turning to technological advancements, Justice Singh said e-filing and digital services have expanded across the High Court and district judiciary. Electronic generation and transmission of summons through the e-Step portal, integrated with the Interoperable Criminal Justice System, has enabled faster communication with police. Judicial records digitisation has also advanced, with approximately 14.13 crore pages of High Court records and 8.89 crore pages of district judiciary records scanned.

High Court judges, Advocate General A. Sudharshan Reddy, Telangana Bar Council chairman A. Narasimha Reddy, and High Court Bar Association president Surender Reddy attended the event.
