Telangana CEO Removes 73.39 Lakh Electors in Draft Roll After SIR Process

HYDERABAD — The Telangana Chief Electoral Office has released the draft electoral roll as part of the Special Intensive Revision following a nearly 50-day enumeration forms distribution and collection process that concluded on August 10.
Out of 3,38,26,448 total electors in the state, 2,64,87,213 submitted their enumeration forms. A total of 73,39,235 electors were identified under the Absent, Shifted, Death, and Duplication category and have been removed from the draft roll.
Among those removed, 45,18,963 electors were identified as permanently shifted, 11,25,546 as absent or untraceable, 9,22,229 as deceased, 6,70,203 as already enrolled, and 1,02,294 under other categories. Genuine electors who were removed can re-enrol during the ongoing claims and objections phase, which ends on September 16, by submitting Form-6 alongside the prescribed declaration form.
The CEO also identified anomalies in forms submitted by 92,87,577 electors. Of these, 60,50,918 voters had discrepancies such as name and age mismatches, while 32,36,659 electors did not furnish their SIR 2002 list details.
Notices are now being issued to the 92,87,577 electors flagged for any of nine identified logical discrepancies. These include irregular age gaps between progeny, parents, and grandparents, as well as mismatched parental or relative details between the current electoral roll and previous records.
Electors will receive notices from Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant EROs through Booth Level Officers or registered post on or before September 16. Replies and supporting documents can be submitted to BLOs, AEROs, or EROs, who may call electors for hearings if additional details are required.
The disposal of claims and objections will conclude on October 15, and the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on October 19.
