Telangana CDMA Launches Bill One For Unified Municipal Payments Across 133 Towns

The Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration (CDMA) of Telangana has officially launched 'Bill One', a new unified municipal payment system designed to simplify how citizens clear their local taxes and dues. The platform has been rolled out across 133 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state. However, this new payment service excludes the Core Urban Region (CURE), which consists of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, and the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation.

The newly introduced platform enables citizens residing in the participating urban local bodies to pay multiple municipal dues through a single transaction. These dues include property tax, water charges, and trade licence fees. Prior to the launch of 'Bill One', taxpayers in these municipalities were required to make separate payments for each individual service they utilized. This older method often involved dealing with multiple different demand notices and required citizens to make repeated visits to local municipal offices to clear their dues.

With 'Bill One', the system automatically generates a single, consolidated demand notice. This unified bill is directly linked to the citizen's Property Tax Identification Number (PTIN), combining all eligible municipal dues into one single payment demand. The platform also benefits property owners who manage multiple services or own more than one property, as it allows them to view all of their applicable municipal dues on a single, unified digital platform.

To provide greater flexibility to taxpayers, the 'Bill One' system supports partial payments and instalment options. This feature is designed to ease the financial burden on citizens and encourage the timely payment of local taxes.

The unified payment service is accessible through multiple channels. Citizens can complete their transactions online via the official municipal portal. Alternatively, the service is also available on the ground through handheld devices operated by municipal ward officers and local bill collectors, making it easier for residents to pay their dues directly in their neighbourhoods.
