Telangana BJP Leaders Pay Homage to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Death Anniversary

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders across Telangana paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his eighth death anniversary on Sunday, recalling his leadership, democratic values, and contributions to India's development.
At the BJP state headquarters, state president N. Ramchander Rao offered floral tributes to Vajpayee's portrait and highlighted his commitment to value-based politics. Rao noted that Vajpayee chose democratic principles over retaining power even when his government fell by a single vote. He described the former prime minister's six-year tenure as a golden era that laid strong foundations through reforms in highways, telecom, and LPG access, adding that his selfless patriotism was rightly honoured with the Bharat Ratna.
Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay described Vajpayee as a visionary leader whose six-decade political career demonstrated unmatched integrity, statesmanship, and oratory skills. Sanjay recalled key milestones of Vajpayee's administration, including the 1998 Pokhran nuclear tests and the historic Lahore bus journey undertaken in pursuit of peace, stating that his dedication continues to inspire citizens.
Separately, BJP MP Etala Rajender, MLA Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, and other senior party leaders paid homage at different events. They commemorated Vajpayee as a poet-philosopher whose major policy decisions, such as the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and the nuclear tests, steered India onto a progressive path.
Following the tributes at the party office, Ramchander Rao attended a Jain community pravachan at the Exhibition Grounds, where he spoke on the crucial role of spiritual leaders in mentoring the youth.
