Telangana Begins Special Drive to Complete 16.06 Crore Sapling Planting Target

A special Vanamahotsavam drive commenced across Telangana on Tuesday to achieve the state's target of planting 16.06 crore saplings before the end of September.
According to data from the forest department, 9.06 crore saplings had been planted across the state as of August 23. The renewed plantation drive has been initiated to cover the remaining target within the designated timeframe.
The upcoming plantation activities and execution plans were reviewed during a video conference with forest officials, chaired by Forests and Environment Minister Konda Surekha.
Following the review, the state government instructed all district forest officers to work in close coordination with their respective district collectors. Officials have been directed to ensure that planting targets are fully met across all districts.
In addition to meeting the target numbers, the government emphasized that authorities must implement all necessary steps to ensure the survival and growth of the planted saplings throughout the state.
