Telangana and Mauritius Discuss Partnership in IT, Skills and Administration

Visiting Mauritius Minister for Public Service and Administrative Reforms Luchmanen Pethia met Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu at the Secretariat on Saturday to explore avenues for bilateral cooperation across several key sectors.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed methods to strengthen ties between Telangana and Mauritius in public administration, tourism, information technology, IT-enabled services (ITeS), emerging technologies, skill development, and education.

Mr. Pethia stated that Mauritius regards Telangana as a trusted partner and expressed keen interest in collaborating on modern administrative practices and capacity building. He specifically sought the Telangana government’s assistance in enhancing the skills and capabilities of Mauritius government employees through structured training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

According to a release from the IT Minister’s office, the visiting minister highlighted his government’s interest in partnering with premier educational and training bodies in the State, including the Dr. Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute (MCRHRD), the Young India Skills University, and other skill-development institutions.

Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Sridhar Babu affirmed that Telangana is ready to extend comprehensive support and cooperation to Mauritius across multiple sectors. He noted that the State government places significant importance on international partnerships and knowledge exchange, particularly in domains where Telangana has established strong expertise.

Mr. Sridhar Babu also extended a formal invitation to Mr. Pethia to attend and participate in the upcoming Telangana Rising Global Summit 2026, scheduled to be hosted by the State government on December 7 and 8.
