Tarun Joshi Unveils Smart and Secure Vision for Future City Police in Ibrahimpatnam

The newly formed Future City Police Commissionerate organized Independence Day celebrations at its headquarters in Ibrahimpatnam on Saturday, where Police Commissioner Dr. Tarun Joshi hoisted the national flag in the presence of senior police officials and personnel.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Joshi outlined his vision for policing in the newly established jurisdiction, stating that a strong democracy requires a police force that is professional, impartial, accessible, and humane. He noted that while freedom was inherited from freedom fighters, every generation has a responsibility to protect and strengthen it, with the freedom to live without fear serving as the most fundamental right of citizens.

Dr. Joshi highlighted that Future City is being developed as a modern, technology-driven, and sustainable urban centre, giving the department an opportunity to build its policing infrastructure from the ground up without inheriting legacy systems.

He stated that the department's core vision is structured around three pillars: smart, safe, and secure. According to the commissioner, "smart" represents the effective adoption of technology and intelligence, "safe" prioritizes the protection of every citizen—particularly women, children, and vulnerable groups—and "secure" focuses on tackling conventional crime as well as emerging digital-age threats.

Emphasizing the human element in law enforcement, Dr. Joshi noted that while technology will serve as an essential force multiplier, the core of policing will always remain the individual police officer interacting with citizens. He called on personnel to commit to building a force that matches the modern infrastructure of Future City while upholding humane values.

The event concluded with the Future City Police Commissionerate reiterating its commitment to public safety, professional service, and community partnership.
