Tanmay Agarwal's 133 Powers Karimnagar Diamonds to Two-Run Win Over Warangal Warriors

On Sunday, June 28, 2026, skipper Tanmay Agarwal hit a brilliant maiden tournament century of 133 runs to power EIPL & eleve Karimnagar Diamonds to a narrow two-run victory over Warangal Warriors in the Sreenidhi University TG20 cricket championship at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. The victory marked the Diamonds' first win of the TG20 season.

Batting first, the Karimnagar Diamonds posted a total of 209/6 in their 20 overs, which is their highest total of the tournament so far. The innings began with a setback when bowler Mudassar Hussain dismissed opener Satwik Reddy for just four runs in the opening over.

Undeterred by the early loss, Agarwal took control of the innings. He counter-attacked the Warriors' bowling, reaching his half-century in just 27 balls. Agarwal shared a crucial 100-run partnership with Hrishikesh Simha, who scored 24 runs off 21 balls before being dismissed by Murugan Abhishek in the 11th over. Agarwal eventually finished with 133 runs off 61 balls. Mudassar Hussain was the most successful bowler for the Warriors, taking two wickets for 35 runs.

In response, the Warangal Warriors mounted a strong chase, finishing just short at 207/6 in their 20 overs. Openers Aman Rao Perala and Harshit Choudhary set an aggressive platform. Although Perala was bowled by Harish Thakur in the third over after scoring 12 runs, the scoring rate remained high.

Rishiket Sisodia then dominated the Diamonds' bowling, hitting three consecutive sixes to reach a 23-ball half-century. He combined with Abhishek to take the Warriors to 60/1 by the end of the powerplay. Sisodia scored 65 runs off 31 balls before falling to Satish Kumar.

Satish Kumar's bowling triggered a collapse for the Warriors around the halfway mark. He dismissed Harshit Choudhary, who made 31 off 23 balls, to break a 70-run partnership, and later claimed Sisodia's wicket. Ashish Srivastav also struck, dismissing Murugan Abhishek for one run in the 11th over. Adi Mani Kiran was dismissed for 11 runs shortly after, as the Warriors lost three wickets in three overs.

Despite a late unbeaten fightback from Bhavesh Seth, who scored 53 not out off 27 balls, the Warriors fell just two runs short of the target. Satish Kumar finished with bowling figures of 2/18, while Ashish Srivastav took 1/27. Agarwal was named the player of the match for his match-winning century.
