Suryapet DEO Suspends Bandaramaram Headmaster MA Hakeem Over Zero Student Enrollment

The District Educational Officer has indefinitely suspended the headmaster of the ZPHS in Bandaramaram, located in the Thungathurthy mandal of Suryapet district. The suspension orders, which were served on Thursday, followed the school recording zero student enrollment for the current academic year, alongside allegations of administrative negligence and poor coordination.
According to the proceedings issued by the District Educational Officer (DEO), the headmaster, MA Hakeem, who holds Full Additional Charge (FAC), failed to maintain proper administration and was negligent in his duties. The DEO's order stated that Hakeem lacked coordination with parents and staff, and violated CCA rules. The official action was also initiated based on complaints from local villagers and leaders, who alleged that Hakeem had used abusive language.
The DEO confirmed that Hakeem will remain under suspension until the disciplinary proceedings against him are completed.
Hakeem, who visited the DEO office on Thursday, has disputed the suspension and claimed he is being made a scapegoat for the school's zero enrollment. He pointed out that the school completely lacks basic facilities, including teachers, toilets, and laboratories, which he argues is the real reason parents are not enrolling their children. He stated that the blame for students not joining the school has been placed solely on him despite these deficiencies.
According to Hakeem, the school had only 13 students enrolled in classes 6 to 10 during the previous academic year. After four of those students completed Class 10, none of the 13 students returned to the school for the current academic year.
Hakeem also questioned the timing of the suspension, noting that the authorities issued the orders more than a month after the start of the new academic year. He maintained that he is being unfairly blamed for the situation.
