Suriya's Vishwanath And Sons Holds Ground in Hyderabad Amid Irumudi Wave

Suriya's latest film Vishwanath And Sons has maintained steady box office occupancies across major centres in Hyderabad, managing to hold its ground despite stiff competition from Ravi Teja's newly released blockbuster Irumudi.

The film witnessed encouraging advance bookings and sustained audience turnout in urban centres, helping it secure a 'Super Hit' status and enter the profit zone in the Telugu states. Producer Naga Vamsi retained an adequate number of screens for the film's second week, providing sufficient theatrical footprint to counter the surge generated by Irumudi.

While the Telugu version has turned profitable, the film continues its run in Tamil Nadu, where it requires additional collections to cover theatrical costs before the release of Toxic on August 26. Trade analysts note that the absence of other major competitors until the mid-week release window has provided Vishwanath And Sons valuable theatrical space to build its totals.
