Sundeep Makthala Plans UAE Expansion for RI Advanced Materials

Hyderabad-based technology entrepreneur and global business strategist Sundeep Kumar Makthala is positioning RI Advanced Materials for an expansion into the United Arab Emirates. Makthala, who serves as the company's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, aims to build a regional platform focused on graphene, advanced materials, research and development, manufacturing, and global commercialisation.

The strategic initiative aligns with the UAE's Operation 300bn industrial vision, an economic program designed to raise the industrial sector's contribution to the nation's gross domestic product to AED 300 billion by 2031. The vision places particular emphasis on future industries, advanced technology, innovation, and research.

As part of the cross-border expansion, Makthala and his team have undertaken strategic engagements across Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah to explore the UAE's industrial and research landscape.

In Sharjah, the leadership of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK) welcomed the team to discuss potential collaboration opportunities. These talks focused on advanced materials, graphene, research commercialisation, and next-generation manufacturing, including specific sector applications such as energy storage, water treatment, and desalination.

Additionally, the team engaged with key stakeholders in the Ras Al Khaimah ecosystem, including the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), to assess investment avenues, infrastructure, and manufacturing requirements for the platform.
