Sudden Rain Lashes Parts of Hyderabad, Musheerabad Records 10.5 mm

Sudden rain lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Tuesday afternoon, including Musheerabad and Serilingampally, catching commuters and residents across the city unaware.

Pedestrians hurried to find shade from the sudden downpour, while motorists took shelter beneath flyovers and Hyderabad Metro Rail tracks to avoid getting drenched.

According to weather observations from the Telangana Development Planning Society, Musheerabad recorded the highest rainfall in the area at 10.5 mm by 3.00 p.m. Among other locations, Serilingampally recorded 2.5 mm of rain, while Ibrahimpatnam logged 2.0 mm.

The India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad Centre issued a weather update at 2.49 p.m. predicting light to moderate rain or thundershowers across parts of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area.

The meteorological centre also cautioned that surface winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kmph were very likely to occur at a few places within the GHMC limits over the following two hours.
