Students Injured at 'Toxic' Pre-Release Event in Gundlapochampally

A minor stampede-like situation unfolded during the pre-release event of the upcoming film 'Toxic' at Malla Reddy University in Gundlapochampally, Medchal, on Saturday night, leaving several students injured.
The promotional event was attended by popular actor Yash and local MLA C Malla Reddy, drawing a massive gathering of college students and movie fans to the university campus in Hyderabad.
Tension flared while Yash was addressing the audience. Eager to catch a closer glimpse of the actor, students surged forward toward the stage amid loud cheers, triggering a sudden commotion and intense overcrowding in the front rows.
Unable to withstand the mounting pressure of the surging crowd, a floodlight pole and heavy speaker boxes mounted at the venue gave way and collapsed. The falling equipment struck several attendees in the vicinity.
Several students sustained injuries to their hands and legs during the incident, while two youths suffered serious injuries. On-site emergency responders and organisers immediately shifted the injured individuals by ambulance to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The collapse and sudden rush caused widespread panic and tension across the university grounds for some time. Event organisers and security personnel intervened to manage the crowd and restore order following the commotion.
