Stone-Laden Lorries on Lanco Hills Road Spark Commuter Safety Concerns

Commuters traveling along Lanco Hills road in Hyderabad have raised serious safety concerns over heavy lorries transporting stones without proper safety precautions during peak morning hours.
Motorists reported that vehicles carrying heavy loads of stone were moving along the busy stretch, creating hazards for surrounding road users and compounding traffic congestion during morning commute times.
The issue gained widespread attention after a video circulated online showing a stone-laden lorry with registration number TS07 UF 7971 allegedly moving near Lanco Hills at around 9:30 am without adequate safety measures.
Commuters expressed frustration over the practice, noting that transporting loose or uncovered materials without mandatory safeguards creates a direct threat to motorists and pedestrians sharing the roadway. Road users have urged the Hyderabad Traffic Police to intervene and take strict action against drivers and operators who flout transport safety norms.
The Cyberabad Traffic Police had earlier warned that moving uncovered materials poses severe risks on city roads. Officials noted that loose materials falling from loaded commercial vehicles can strike passing cars and two-wheelers, potentially shattering windscreens and causing injuries to motorcyclists.
Police also cautioned that falling debris can distract drivers and lead to vehicles skidding, significantly elevating the risk of road accidents. The Cyberabad Traffic Police reiterated that operators and drivers must securely cover loaded vehicles with proper sheets to safeguard all road users.
