Sridhar Babu Invites German Industrialists to Invest in Telangana

On Friday, Telangana's Minister for Information Technology and Industries, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, hosted a high-level German delegation at the Dr. B.R. Telangana State Secretariat in Hyderabad. The meeting was held to promote Telangana as a premier manufacturing hub and to invite German industrial investments into the state.

The visiting German delegation was led by Tobias Gotthardt, the Vice Minister of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. During the courtesy call, both sides discussed various opportunities to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Telangana and Germany.

Minister Sridhar Babu asserted that Telangana is the most conducive state for establishing manufacturing industries compared to other states in the country. He urged the delegation to encourage German industrialists to invest in the region. According to the Minister, the state government is making planned efforts to transform Telangana into a world-class manufacturing hub. He highlighted that this transformation is being driven by investor-friendly industrial policies, world-class infrastructure, and a highly skilled workforce.

During the discussion, Sridhar Babu explained the policies currently being implemented by the state government to accelerate industrial development, as well as the specific incentives being extended to new industries. He pointed out that Telangana offers vast investment opportunities in several key sectors. These sectors include Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Aerospace, Defence, Advanced Manufacturing, and Precision Engineering.

Additionally, the Minister highlighted potential areas for partnership in Digital Engineering, Semiconductors, Automotive and Mobility, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Health, Research and Innovation, Clean Energy, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and Industry 4.0.

To address future challenges in these sectors, Sridhar Babu explained that the state is systematically developing a comprehensive ecosystem. This ecosystem is focused on advanced technology, research, innovation, and skilling. He further stated that the Telangana government is ready to expand the Telangana–Germany partnership beyond traditional investments to also include active collaboration in technology, research, and skill development.

The high-level meeting was attended by several prominent officials, including German Consul General Michael Hasper and Germany's Honorary Consul in Hyderabad Amita Desai. Also present were Ulrike Hoffmann, the Executive Director of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, and John Kottayil, the Executive Director of the Bavaria India Office.
