Sri Chaitanya School Principal, 2 Staff Arrested in Dammaiguda Assault Case

Jawaharnagar police have arrested three staff members of Sri Chaitanya School’s Dammaiguda branch, including the principal, for allegedly concealing a physical assault on a Class 10 student that occurred on the night of August 7.

The police identified the arrested personnel as school principal Janmanchi Manoj Kumar, 48, hostel warden Mokepally Babu, 25, and hostel in-charge Jatoth Aakash, 27. The arrests were made following an investigation into the incident at the school hostel.

According to police, the victim, a Class 10 student staying at the school's hostel, was attacked by a group of fellow students following an earlier dispute. The student sustained multiple injuries during the assault and required medical treatment.

Instead of reporting the assault to the victim's parents or police, the school administration allegedly attempted to cover up the incident. Staff members told the boy's parents that he had sustained his injuries by falling down a staircase.

The student's father subsequently lodged a formal complaint with the Jawaharnagar police station regarding the attack and the concealment. Investigators stated that offences were prima facie established against both the students involved in the physical assault and the three staff members.

Following the investigation, police took principal Manoj Kumar, warden Mokepally Babu, and hostel in-charge Jatoth Aakash into custody. Police stated that the minors involved in the attack are being dealt with in accordance with the law.
