Speed Skater Pranav Madav Meets SATG Officials in Hyderabad After Asian Championship Win

Telangana's short-track speed skater and national gold medallist, Pranav Madav Surapaneni, met Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director Dr A Sonibala Devi and Chairman K Shiv Sena Reddy in Hyderabad on Monday.
Pranav recently secured one silver and two bronze medals at the Asian Short Track Championship 2026. He has also won gold medals across multiple categories at the National Championships, establishing his standing in the sport nationally.
During the meeting, Pranav briefed the SATG leadership on his upcoming international competitions, training requirements, and long-term sporting targets. He is among the Indian skaters who have achieved the qualifying standard for the Senior World Tour, a key step toward qualification for the 2030 Winter Olympics.
Dr Sonibala Devi enquired about his coaching programme, training schedule, international exposure, practice facilities, and the support needed for high-level training and global events. She assured Pranav and his family that his case would be considered for financial assistance under the new Telangana Sports Policy, subject to applicable provisions and procedures.
SATG Chairman Shiv Sena Reddy commended Pranav's achievements and reaffirmed that steps would be taken to provide financial support under the sports policy to assist state athletes competing internationally.
Pranav expressed his gratitude to the SATG leadership and thanked Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for promoting sports development under the state's new sports policy as he prepares for further international competitions.
