Six Dead as Hyderabad-Vijayawada Bus Collides With Truck in Suryapet

Six people were killed and several others sustained serious injuries early Wednesday morning when a private travel bus traveling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada rammed into a moving truck on the national highway.

According to Suryapet Police, the collision occurred near Dwarakunta in Kodad mandal, close to the Durgapuram stage. A total of 43 passengers were onboard the bus at the time of the crash.

Police officials shifted the bodies of the deceased to a mortuary for post-mortem examinations, while the injured passengers were transported to nearby local hospitals for emergency medical care. An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is underway.

Political leaders expressed shock and condolences following the accident. BRS working president KT Rama Rao termed the incident extremely tragic and urged the state government to ensure proper and continuous medical treatment for all injured passengers.

State BJP President N Ramchander Rao requested the government to announce ex-gratia financial assistance for the families of the deceased and demanded stricter road safety measures across the state.
