Siddipet Woman Kills Commercial Tax Officer Husband with Pestle Over Property

A 62-year-old government employee was allegedly beaten to death by his wife with a pestle following an argument over property and retirement benefits at Hanuman Nagar in Husnabad town of Siddipet district on Sunday evening.

The deceased was identified by police as Koti Venkateshwarlu, who was working as a commercial tax officer in Asifabad district. He was scheduled to retire from government service at the end of this month. His wife, Rajamani, is employed as an auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) at the Husnabad government hospital.

According to the police, the couple had been engaged in ongoing disputes regarding the distribution of their property and the utilization of Venkateshwarlu's upcoming retirement benefits. The dispute escalated on Sunday evening when community elders were invited to their residence to help mediate and settle the issue.

Venkateshwarlu's younger brother, Devender, stated that two elders visited the house on Sunday to discuss the matter. During the meeting, one of the elders suggested postponing further discussions to the following Sunday. However, a heated argument broke out between the couple shortly after.

During the altercation, Rajamani allegedly pushed Venkateshwarlu, grabbed a pestle lying nearby, and struck him on the head. Venkateshwarlu sustained a severe head injury from the blow.

Following the attack, family members immediately rushed Venkateshwarlu to a private hospital in Karimnagar for medical treatment.
