Shankarpally Police Arrest Two Pardhi Gang Members for 11 House Thefts

The Shankarpally police on Sunday arrested two members of a Pardhi gang allegedly involved in a series of locked-house burglaries across Shankarpally, BDL Bhanur, Gajwel, and surrounding areas.
Police intercepted the two suspects around 10 am on Sunday while they were moving suspiciously near temporary huts on Rice Mill Road in Shankarpally. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in 11 theft cases across the region over the past six months.
Among the admitted offences was a burglary in Elvarthi village on August 11, where the gang allegedly broke into a residence around 2 am and decamped with gold ornaments, silver articles, and cash.
According to the police, the gang members operated by identifying locked houses during daytime reconnaissance. After ensuring the premises were vacant, they returned to break the locks using iron rods. The perpetrators wore masks and gloves during the break-ins to conceal their identities while other gang members maintained watch outside.
Investigators stated that the gang hailed from the Solapur and Jalna districts of Maharashtra. Members travelled to the state alongside women and children, setting up temporary tents near construction sites in Shankarpally, Lingampally, and Tolichowki to carry out offences across the region.
The Shankarpally police confirmed that further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the remaining members of the gang.
