Shamshabad Police Bust Fake Currency Racket, Three Arrested with Rs 2.90 Lakh

Task Force police in the Shamshabad zone of Hyderabad have arrested three members of a gang involved in manufacturing and circulating counterfeit currency notes.

Acting on specific surveillance, police intercepted the accused and seized counterfeit currency notes with a total face value of Rs 2.90 lakh from their possession. Alongside the fake currency, officers confiscated the equipment and various materials used to print and manufacture the notes.

According to police officials, the gang had been producing counterfeit currency and actively pushing it into circulation across local markets. The operation was uncovered after surveillance tracking led law enforcement directly to the suspects.

Following the arrests and seizure, police have stepped up vigilance across the Shamshabad area and neighbouring locations to monitor and curb any potential circulation of remaining fake notes.

Investigators are currently probing several aspects of the case, focusing on the exact locations where the printing took place and identifying other associates connected to the wider network. Police stated that ongoing interrogation of the three arrested suspects is expected to uncover further details regarding the operation.
