Seven police teams hunt for Raj Kumar after six killed in Shabad mandal

The Future City Police have launched a massive search operation and formed seven special teams to apprehend a suspect, Raj Kumar, who allegedly murdered six people at two different locations in Shabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district near Hyderabad. Future City Commissioner of Police Tarun Joshi announced the development on Saturday, following the gruesome killings that began around 11 p.m. on Friday night.

According to the preliminary police investigation, the suspect first went to the residence of a 17-year-old girl in Shabad. At approximately 11 p.m., Raj Kumar allegedly stabbed the teenager's mother and grandmother to death with a knife. He then allegedly took the 17-year-old girl to a lake located near Nagarkunta, where he murdered her.

After committing these three murders, the suspect returned to his own house. There, he allegedly killed his wife and his two children. The police have shifted the bodies of all six victims to a hospital for post-mortem examinations.

Following the killings, Raj Kumar allegedly made a phone call to his parents. During the conversation, he told them that he had killed six people and stated that he was also "going to die," according to Commissioner Tarun Joshi.

The police are currently investigating a potential link between the murders and a prior legal case. Commissioner Joshi stated that a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act had been registered against Raj Kumar on May 16. The suspect had subsequently secured bail in that case.

"Raj Kumar remains absconding, and seven special police teams have been formed to trace and apprehend him," Commissioner Joshi said while addressing the media. He added that the killing of the suspect's own wife and children had shocked the police department, and the investigation is continuing.
