Seven Injured as KVR Travels Bus Rams Into Railway Bridge Near Kotha Lankapally

Seven passengers were injured, four of them critically, after a private bus rammed into a railway bridge near Kotha Lankapally village in the Penuballi mandal of Khammam in the early hours of Monday, June 8, 2026.

The bus, operated by KVR Travels, was carrying approximately 35 passengers at the time of the incident. It was en route to Hyderabad from Chekkapally town, located in the Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh, when the accident occurred.

According to the police, the collision was highly impactful, causing the bus to turn sideways. The force of the crash was so strong that the front axle of the vehicle became completely detached.

Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that high speed was the main factor that led to the crash. Following the accident, the seven injured passengers were quickly evacuated from the scene and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
