Security Tightened at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Until August 20

Security has been tightened at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad, Hyderabad, in view of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. High-alert restrictions have been implemented across the airport facility and are expected to remain strictly in force through August 20.

Under the revised security measures, visitor pass counters at the airport have been closed, and the issuance of visitor passes has been suspended. Every vehicle arriving at the airport complex is undergoing thorough inspection at the main entry points before being permitted to proceed inside.

Security personnel stationed at the airport are conducting intensive checks throughout the entire airport premises. These surveillance efforts are being carried out with the assistance of sniffer dog squads to monitor the facility.

In response to the expanded screening measures, air passengers and visitors heading to the airport have been advised to cooperate fully with security personnel on duty. Passengers have also been requested to allow extra time for screening and security checks before their flights.
