Secunderabad short circuit triggers fire in Boudhanagar damaging auto rickshaw

A major fire broke out in L.N. Nagar, Boudhanagar, Secunderabad on Wednesday morning, June 3, 2026, after a short circuit occurred in a cluster of wires. The incident was reportedly triggered by internet and television cable wires that were wrapped around a local electricity pole.
According to local residents who witnessed the incident, the short circuit began within a tangled cluster of cable wires on the pole. The fire quickly caught on and began to spread rapidly, completely burning through the hanging cables.
As the flames spread downward from the burning cable wires, they engulfed an auto-rickshaw parked nearby. The vehicle sustained heavy damage as a result of the fire.
To prevent the fire from spreading further and causing a larger disaster, personnel from the electricity department arrived at the scene and promptly disconnected the power supply to the area.
No injuries were reported during the incident, according to officials.
Following the fire, residents of the area have expressed their growing concerns regarding the safety hazards posed by large bundles of internet and television cables that are left hanging from electricity poles in the neighborhood.
