Secunderabad Resident Targeted With AI-Morphed Content, Police File Case

The wife of an Army Major, who works as a cabin crew member and resides in Secunderabad, was allegedly targeted by cybercriminals who used artificial intelligence tools to morph her photographs and videos into obscene content, Hyderabad Cybercrime police said.
The Secunderabad resident was targeted after unidentified individuals gathered her photographs and videos from her personal social media accounts. The accused are suspected to have utilized AI-based software to manipulate the original media files and generate explicit images and videos.
The morphed material was subsequently uploaded to various social media platforms. The perpetrators shared the posts and direct links with the woman's family members, relatives, and friends in an apparent bid to harass and blackmail her.
The incident came to light after the explicit content was brought directly to the notice of the victim's relatives. Following this, the woman approached the Hyderabad Cybercrime police to file a formal complaint.
Police have registered a case of cyber harassment and are examining digital evidence, including the social media handles and web links used to circulate the manipulated content.
