SCSC Marks 20 Years of Police-Industry-Community Partnership in Hitec City
The Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) marked two decades of police-industry-community collaboration on Saturday with a commemorative event held in Hitec City. The council, which was formally established on August 23, 2006, operates as a shared platform bringing together police authorities, industry leaders, and community members to address security requirements in Hyderabad's expanding IT corridor.
The event drew senior police officials, government representatives, industry executives, security experts, healthcare professionals, and community stakeholders. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr M. Ramesh addressed the gathering, noting that the safety and security of IT professionals and the broader technology sector remain a top priority for law enforcement. He acknowledged SCSC's sustained support and highlighted its contributions during critical periods, including the Telangana statehood movement and the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the anniversary programme, officials unveiled the 'SCSC@20' logo and launched a commemorative book titled 'Enabling Enterprise – 2 Decades of SCSC'. Former SCSC Secretary General Dr Krishna Yedula spoke about the council's beginnings, stating that initial consultations between police and industry regarding security concerns and standard operating procedures formed the foundation of the organisation. Over the past twenty years, the council has transitioned from handling immediate security needs to implementing proactive safety solutions.
The commemorative gathering featured four panel discussions focused on contemporary community and safety issues. The first panel addressed safety awareness and responsible technology use to build secure environments for women, children, and younger generations. The second session focused on cybercrime prevention, digital evidence, fraud awareness, and collaboration between citizens, tech experts, and law enforcement. A third panel covered road safety measures, including driver education, enforcement, infrastructure, and responsible driving. The final panel examined preventive healthcare, nutrition, fitness, and collective wellness initiatives.
Panel participants included Cyberabad Municipal Commissioner G. Srijana, DCP Sheshadrini Reddy, DCP Riti Raj, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sunpreet Singh, and DCP Ch. Srinivas, alongside representatives from the healthcare and corporate sectors. The event also featured a performance by Nancy Sahu, Director of Strategic Relations at SCSC.
