SCR GM inspects Secunderabad to Shankarpalli railway works and Hitech City upgrade

On Thursday, South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava led a detailed inspection of railway infrastructure, safety systems, and station redevelopment works between Secunderabad and Shankarpalli. The inspection, which included stops at Nagalapalli, Shankarpalli, Hitech City, and Kacheguda, focused on ensuring safety compliance, reviewing passenger amenities, and monitoring ongoing station upgrades, including a ₹26 crore project at Hitech City under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Accompanied by senior railway officials, the General Manager began by conducting a rear window inspection of the section to observe the tracks and surrounding infrastructure in real-time. During this transit, Srivastava reviewed the signalling systems, track conditions, sectional speeds, and a minor bridge located between Nagalapalli and Shankarpalli.

At the Shankarpalli station, Srivastava focused on passenger comfort and the status of station upgrades. He assessed the existing passenger amenities and reviewed the progress of the ongoing redevelopment works aimed at improving the station's overall infrastructure.

Srivastava then proceeded to the Nagalapalli station to inspect its operational facilities. His inspection at this location covered the foot overbridge, the circulating area, the station building, and a newly constructed ramp designed to improve accessibility. Additionally, he inspected a nearby level crossing gate to ensure safety protocols were being met.

A major highlight of the inspection was the Hitech City station, where extensive redevelopment works are currently underway. The project, valued at ₹26 crore, is being executed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Srivastava inspected the 12-metre foot overbridge, the station platforms, the circulating area, and the station master’s room. He also conducted a review of the station's signalling systems and safety equipment.

Finally, at Kacheguda, the General Manager inspected the passenger amenities on Platform 1 and the foot overbridge. He also reviewed the station premises at the second entry towards Golnaka and held detailed discussions with officials regarding future station upgradation plans.
