SCIFF 2026 Invites Global Film Entries For Screenings In 74 Telangana Schools

The 10th School Cinema International Film Festival (SCIFF) is scheduled to be held from November 14 to 30, 2026, bringing a curated selection of international children's films directly into classrooms in Hyderabad and other parts of the state. Organisers have officially opened the call for entries, inviting filmmakers and independent creators from all over the world to submit their work before the final deadline of August 15, 2026.

The festival is designed to bring the traditional film festival experience into the familiar and comfortable environment of schools. This unique screening model targets a formative audience of school children aged between 5 and 16 years. Currently, the School Cinema program is implemented in 74 schools across 16 cities in Telangana, making the state a key participant in the national event.

Filmmakers can submit films across multiple categories, including live-action, animation, and documentary films. The festival accepts both short-format and feature-format submissions. To be eligible for the upcoming 10th edition of the festival, all submitted films must have been completed after January 1, 2024. Additionally, the organisers have specified that all films containing dialogue must carry English subtitles.

The SCIFF 2026 plans to recognise outstanding films across all of these categories with awards. Filmmakers and creators can submit their entries online through the designated platform link at https://filmfreeway.com/SchoolCinemaInternationalFilmFestival.

By screening these curated films directly in schools, the festival aims to showcase quality international content to young students. This setup allows children to experience diverse global cinema within their daily educational spaces across India during the two-week event in November.
