SBI Agrees to Telangana Government Alternate Land Offer in Raidurg Dispute

The State Bank of India (SBI) has accepted the Telangana government's proposal of alternate land plots in Raidurg, Future City, and Osman Nagar, effectively resolving the controversial Raidurg land dispute. Telangana Chief Secretary K Rama Krishna Rao held a decisive meeting with senior bank officials on Saturday to formalize the agreement.

The dispute reached a critical juncture after the Telangana High Court granted a stay on the controversial land tract in Raidurg. To resolve the impasse, Chief Secretary Rao convened a meeting with SBI officials on June 22. During this initial session, the Chief Secretary informed the bank representatives that the state government was prepared to offer alternative land parcels in exchange for the disputed plot.

Following the June 22 discussions, a team of representatives from the SBI conducted physical site visits to the proposed locations on June 23. The state government had suggested alternative sites situated in Future City, Osman Nagar, and another specific plot located within Raidurg.

After evaluating the locations, a follow-up meeting was held on Saturday to finalize the negotiations. SBI officials G S Rana, Neelesh Dwivedi, and G Poovazhagi participated in the discussions. Based on the site visits and subsequent deliberations, the bank officially agreed to accept the alternate land proposals put forward by the state government.

According to an official statement released by the state government, the next steps will involve the SBI officials securing formal approval from the bank's Board. Furthermore, the state government and the bank will initiate the necessary legal and administrative measures in the matter to ensure full alignment with the ongoing High Court proceedings.
