SATG Felicitates Chess Grandmaster Raja Rithvik at LB Stadium in Hyderabad

The Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) felicitated International Chess Grandmaster Raja Rithvik at the LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday, honouring his medal-winning performances at international chess tournaments recently held in France and Spain.
Raja Rithvik, who recently returned to India following his European tour, met SATG Chairman K Shiv Sena Reddy alongside Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director Dr A Sonibala Devi, IFS. The officials congratulated the Grandmaster for bringing pride to Telangana and the nation, presenting him with a ceremonial shawl.
At the Mennecy International Chess Championship held in France, Rithvik scored seven points across nine rounds. He remained unbeaten throughout the competition to secure the silver medal. Continuing his form at the Pontevedra International Chess Championship in Spain, he again scored seven points in nine rounds, clinching the bronze medal.
Speaking on the occasion, SATG Chairman Shiv Sena Reddy said that Rithvik's back-to-back international podium finishes serve as a testament to the immense sporting talent among the youth of Telangana.
Dr Sonibala Devi commended Rithvik for managing his sporting career alongside his academics, noting that his success on the global stage while pursuing an engineering education reflects remarkable discipline, dedication, and commitment. She also highlighted the significant role played by his coaches, N Rama Raju and Ukrainian Super Grandmaster Alexander Goloshchapov, adding that his achievements would inspire upcoming sportspersons across the state.
Expressing his gratitude to the Sports Authority of Telangana for its continuous encouragement and support, Raja Rithvik stated that he would work to deliver even stronger performances in upcoming international chess tournaments and bring further laurels to the state and the country.
