Saroornagar Police Book Bobbili Circle Inspector for Alleged Abduction in Hyderabad

The Saroornagar police have registered a criminal case against a Circle Inspector from Bobbili in Andhra Pradesh and several unidentified men for allegedly entering a house illegally, abducting a man, and assaulting his wife in Madhavanagar in Bairamalguda, Hyderabad. The incident took place between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm on June 30 within the Saroornagar police station limits.

According to the police, the case was filed following a complaint by K. Vijaya Lakshmi. She alleged that several men dressed in civil clothes identified themselves as Andhra Pradesh police personnel before forcibly entering her residence. The complainant stated that the group entered her home without following any due legal procedures.

Once inside, the team allegedly took away her husband, identified as K. Venkatrami Reddy, by force. When Vijaya Lakshmi questioned the actions of the men, they allegedly abused her using obscene language, pushed her aside, and seized her mobile phone.

In her complaint, Vijaya Lakshmi stated that the team completely ignored mandatory Supreme Court guidelines regarding arrest procedures. She pointed out that if the men were indeed active police personnel, they were legally required to wear proper uniforms bearing their nameplates. Furthermore, they were required to disclose the specific details of the case, provide an official arrest memo, and produce her husband before the jurisdictional magistrate.

Because these mandatory procedures were allegedly ignored, Vijaya Lakshmi sought legal action against Bobbili Circle Inspector Srinivas and the other unidentified individuals involved in the incident.

Based on her complaint, the Saroornagar police registered a case against the accused. The case has been booked under Section 74 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Saroornagar police confirmed that an investigation into the matter is currently underway to determine the facts of the alleged abduction and assault.
