Saroornagar Businessman's Organs Donated to Three Patients After Fatal Crash

The family of 43-year-old borewell businessman Gatla Venkateshwar Reddy, a resident of Vasavi Colony in Saroornagar, donated his organs to three patients after he was declared brain dead following a road accident in Hyderabad.
The incident occurred on September 28 when Venkateshwar Reddy was riding his two-wheeler. An unidentified four-wheeler hit his vehicle, causing him to sustain grievous injuries. Following the collision, his family members immediately shifted him to a private hospital in Hyderabad for medical treatment.
Despite medical intervention by doctors at the hospital, his condition deteriorated over the subsequent days. Medical professionals subsequently declared Venkateshwar Reddy brain dead on Wednesday, September 30.
Following the declaration, his wife, Gatla Swarna, consented to donate his vital organs under the State-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative. Surgeons harvested his liver and two kidneys, which were allocated to benefit three needy patients awaiting transplants.
Officials from Jeevandan Telangana expressed their gratitude to Venkateshwar Reddy’s family for making the decision to donate organs during their time of grief. With this donation, the total count of brain-dead organ donations recorded under the Jeevandan initiative across Telangana reached 155 for the year.
