Sanjay Jaju Orders Vigilance Raids Against Illegal Mining in Telangana

Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju reviewed the functioning of the Mines and Geology Department at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat in Hyderabad on Monday, ordering strict enforcement against illegal sand transportation and unauthorized mining.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary evaluated various aspects of departmental operations. The review addressed core administrative matters, including departmental recruitment drives, pending promotions, and ongoing revenue generation measures.

To curb illicit activities, Jaju directed authorities to take stern action against offenders through frequent vigilance raids and on-ground inspections targeting illegal sand transport and unauthorized extraction.

The Chief Secretary also emphasised the importance of maintaining transparency across operations. He instructed the department to adopt technology-driven monitoring mechanisms to strengthen oversight and boost State revenue.
