Sanjay Dutt visits Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital in Hyderabad to meet patients

Star actor Sanjay Dutt visited the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI) in Hyderabad on Monday, July 6, 2026. The visit was focused on offering support and encouragement to patients, where Dutt interacted with individuals undergoing treatment, met with the medical staff, and shared his personal journey of recovering from cancer.

Dutt was accompanied during his tour of the Hyderabad facility by the Chairman of BIACH&RI, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and Trust Board member Nara Brahmani. Together, they visited several of the key medical departments within the hospital, including the PET-CT Unit, the Radiation Oncology Department, and the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.

During his time in the pediatric ward, Dutt spent time interacting with the young patients. To bring some joy to the children undergoing cancer treatment, the actor distributed fruits and gifts to them. He also took the opportunity to interact directly with specialist doctors at the hospital to gain a better understanding of the advanced treatment facilities currently available at the institute.

Speaking to those gathered at the hospital, Dutt emphasized the role of psychological resilience in battling the disease, stating that courage and mental strength are the most important weapons in fighting cancer. He spoke about his own family's history with the illness, sharing that his mother had succumbed to cancer in the past. He also spoke about his own health battle, sharing that he was diagnosed with lung cancer a few years ago but was able to successfully recover through timely treatment.

Following his tour and interactions, actor and Chairman Nandamuri Balakrishna felicitated Dutt during a formal function organized at the venue. The felicitation ceremony was attended by senior cancer specialists, hospital staff, Trust Board members, and other attendees.
