Samantha Starrer Maa Inti Bangaaram Hits Screens with Action and Family Drama

The Telugu action family entertainer Maa Inti Bangaaram, starring Samantha in the lead role, officially hit theatres on June 19, 2026. Directed by Nandini Reddy, the film has opened to reviews characterizing it as a watchable family drama heavily anchored by its lead actress's performance.

Co-produced by Raj Nidimoru, Samantha, and Himank Reddy Duvvuru, the film features an ensemble cast including Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, Gautami, and Sreemukhi. Set against a 1990s backdrop, the story follows Swarna, played by Samantha, who marries a doctor named Anirudh, played by Diganth Manchale, against his joint family's wishes.

Upon moving into her husband's family home, Swarna attempts to win over her new in-laws. However, she struggles to meet their traditional expectations while desperately trying to hide a secret past. The narrative details her efforts to keep her background hidden and the subsequent problems her family faces because of it.

Samantha has been widely praised for carrying the film, delivering strong performances in both comedic scenes and intense action sequences. Her portrayal, which features a Chittoor diction, includes physically demanding fight scenes such as a car chase and a bus sequence. The comedic chemistry between Samantha and co-star Sreemukhi, alongside a remix of the classic song "Muthyala Muggu," provided significant entertainment in the first half.

Despite the strong start, the film faced criticism for its second half, which follows a familiar storyline inspired by the classic Baasha template. Reviewers noted that the screenplay became highly predictable and featured several stretched sequences, such as the villain's entry into the family home. Gulshan Devaiah's performance as the antagonist was noted as competent, though his track suffered from a lack of depth and emotional impact in the writing.

Supporting actress Manjusha Mukkavilli, who plays Swarna's friend, delivered an impressive performance, and the film's chaotic action-comedy climax helped bring the story to a neat finish. The technical crew behind the project includes music director Santhosh Narayanan, cinematographer Om Prakash ISC, and editor Dharmendra Kakarala.
