RS MP Son Booked in Madhapur After Aston Martin Kills Retail Worker

Madhapur police have registered a case against Lingamaneni Sanjush, the son of Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha member Lingamaneni Ramesh, after an Aston Martin hit and killed a 26-year-old retail worker opposite Inorbit Mall in Madhapur on August 16.

The deceased has been identified as Bharati Mukhi, who worked as a salesgirl at the Lifestyle store located inside Inorbit Mall. According to the police FIR, Bharati was crossing the road opposite the shopping mall around 3 p.m. when she was struck by a luxury car, an Aston Martin with registration number TG-09-G-0666.

Based on the incident, the Madhapur police booked Sanjush under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for an alleged rash and negligent act causing death. His father, Lingamaneni Ramesh, is a Rajya Sabha MP from the Janasena party.

The incident came to light following a formal complaint lodged by Panjala Ashwin Kumar, the manager of the Lifestyle store where Bharati worked. According to the complaint, Bharati and her colleague, 26-year-old Pooja Ashok Alone, had stepped out and gone near ITC Kohenur to collect food. The fatal collision occurred while both employees were making their way back to the mall.

The FIR states that Sanjush was driving the vehicle at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner before hitting Bharati while she was in the process of crossing the road. The impact left her with severe bleeding injuries to her head.

Following the accident, Bharati was shifted in the same Aston Martin to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills for medical treatment. However, upon arrival, doctors examined her and declared her dead. Pooja had immediately contacted and informed the store manager about the collision, following which Ashwin Kumar reached Apollo Hospital and later lodged a police complaint.
