Road Near US Consulate In Nanakramguda Named Donald Trump Avenue

A key road adjoining the United States Consulate in Nanakramguda, located in the Financial District of Hyderabad, has been formally inaugurated and named 'Donald Trump Avenue'. The ceremonial plaque was unveiled in a high-profile ceremony attended by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.
The naming of the road was first announced by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy during the Telangana Rising Summit in December 2025. The state government presented the naming as a symbol of Hyderabad's growing role in the India-US strategic, economic, and technology partnership.
Speaking at the unveiling, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka highlighted the deep cultural and professional connections between Telangana and the United States. He noted that the relationship is built not only by governments but also by students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and families. "America is not just a country on the map for Hyderabad families. It is a son in Boston, a daughter in New Jersey, a friend in Seattle or a founder in Austin," Vikramarka said.
Vikramarka also spoke about Hyderabad's long-standing technology ties with the US, recalling the city's journey from attracting Microsoft in the 1990s to producing global leaders like Satya Nadella. He remarked, "If you give Hyderabad a development centre, we may send back a global CEO." He added that the relationship has expanded beyond software outsourcing into co-creation in fields such as artificial intelligence, life sciences, clean energy, vaccines, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing.
US Ambassador Sergio Gor attended the plaque unveiling as part of the Freedom 250 celebrations, which mark 250 years of American independence. Gor remarked that trust is the foundation of the India-US relationship, creating new opportunities across trade, defence, technology, pharmaceuticals, space, and investment. He added that Washington and New Delhi are working "hand in hand" on issues of global importance, noting that the relationship has gained fresh momentum under the leadership of Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Expressing hope for the future, Vikramarka said, "May this avenue carry many journeys - of students, scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, diplomats, families and dreamers."
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by US Consul General Laura Williams, alongside various Telangana ministers, government officials, business leaders, and members of the diplomatic community.
