Revanth Reddy vows to expand welfare after Koti bike rider praises Rs 10 canteen meal

On Saturday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy responded to a social media post by a Hyderabad-based ride-hailing bike rider who praised the state's Indiramma Canteen scheme after dining at an outlet in Koti. The rider shared that he received a meal of six idlis for just ₹10, prompting the Chief Minister to highlight how such feedback strengthens the government's resolve to expand welfare initiatives across the state.

The bike rider's post, which gained significant traction on social media, highlighted the practical benefits of the subsidized meal scheme. The rider noted that the Indiramma Canteen program is playing a vital role in helping daily wage workers, auto drivers, and labourers meet their basic food needs in Hyderabad. In his post, the rider expressed his gratitude to the Telangana state government for implementing the scheme.

Responding to the viral post, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his gratitude and stated that he felt a deep sense of satisfaction from the appreciation of a working-class citizen whom he had never met. The Chief Minister reiterated that the very concept of the Indiramma Canteens was born out of the state government's core commitment to ensure that no poor person in Telangana has to go hungry.

According to the Chief Minister, direct feedback from citizens on the ground provides the necessary inspiration and strength for the administration to expand its reach. He stated that the positive response from the rider serves as motivation to take forward more pro-people welfare measures in the future.

The interaction highlights the ongoing impact of the Indiramma Canteen scheme in areas like Koti, where low-income workers rely on affordable meals. The state government plans to use this public feedback to further fuel its welfare agenda and ensure food security for all vulnerable populations in the state.
