Revanth Reddy Orders Action Against Agencies Delaying Contract Staff Salaries

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed state authorities in Hyderabad to take strict action against outsourcing agencies that delay salary payments to contract and outsourcing staff. The directive was issued during a high-level review meeting held to address the various challenges faced by contract and outsourced workers in the state.
During the review, Chief Minister Reddy expressed serious concern over agencies failing to pay salaries on time despite the government releasing the necessary funds. He instructed officials to penalize any agency operating out of sync with the government's administrative goals and to ensure workers are paid promptly.
To resolve these payment delays, the Chief Minister ordered the complete digitization of records for all contract and outsourced employees across all government departments. This digitized data must include comprehensive details such as employee profiles, salary structures, and bank account information. The objective of this digitization is to guarantee that salaries are successfully credited on the first day of every month.
In tandem with these measures, Chief Minister Reddy announced the constitution of a new Official Committee tasked with strengthening digital governance in Telangana. The committee has been mandated to study the current systems and submit a detailed report within a 100-day timeline.
The Chief Minister sought updates on the existing implementation of digital governance and instructed officials to draft the necessary legislation to support a transition. He emphasized that the state administrative system must move forward with full-scale digitization to improve efficiency.
According to Reddy, the primary objective of this digital push is to provide superior services to the public. The digitization of administrative systems is also intended to ensure that various government welfare schemes reach their intended beneficiaries directly.
Additionally, the Chief Minister enquired about the digitization of data for regular government staff, instructing officials to integrate this with the contract and outsourced worker database to create a unified system.
