Revanth Reddy Names TIMS Hospitals in Alwal, LB Nagar After Telangana Figures

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Monday that the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospitals in Alwal and LB Nagar, along with the Warangal Super Specialty Hospital, will be named after prominent personalities associated with Telangana. The Chief Minister made the announcement during the inauguration of the Moosarambagh Flyover at Amberpet.

Under the new naming decisions, the Alwal TIMS facility will be named after former Chief Minister T. Anjaiah. The LB Nagar TIMS hospital will carry the name of Telangana leader Konda Laxman Bapuji, while the Warangal Super Specialty Hospital will be named after Prof. K. Jayashankar.

The decision was taken following a request submitted by Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. The Minister had requested that major hospital facilities constructed under the jurisdiction of the Roads and Buildings Department be named after eminent figures who made significant contributions to the development and identity of Telangana.

Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy thanked the Chief Minister for accepting his proposal. The Minister noted that he had previously raised the matter during the inauguration of the Sanathnagar TIMS, where he had suggested dedicating these healthcare institutions to leaders who contributed significantly to the State.

He further observed that the naming of the Sanathnagar TIMS after former Chief Minister Marri Channa Reddy served as a fitting tribute. According to the Minister, naming the three additional hospital facilities after T. Anjaiah, Konda Laxman Bapuji, and Prof. Jayashankar offers due recognition to their enduring contributions and the ideals they represented.
