Revanth Reddy Meets Nitin Gadkari to Seek Approval for Hyderabad Ring Road Projects

On Tuesday, 14 July 2026, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met with Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari in Delhi to seek urgent Union Cabinet approval for the pending northern part of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and other key highway projects connecting Hyderabad.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister informed the Union Minister that 95 per cent of the land acquisition for the northern section of the RRR has already been completed. Based on this progress, Reddy requested that the Centre grant the necessary approvals for the southern section of the RRR as well.
Reddy informed the Union Minister that commencing construction on both the northern and southern sections of the Regional Ring Road simultaneously would ensure the works are completed faster and at a lower cost.
In addition to the RRR, Reddy raised several other crucial infrastructure projects for the state. He briefed Gadkari on the importance of the proposed greenfield highway connecting Hyderabad to the Andhra Pradesh capital city, a project envisaged under the AP Reorganisation Act, and appealed for its approval.
The Chief Minister also discussed the pending forest clearances for the Mannanur-Srisailam elevated corridor. This corridor covers the Nallamala Sanctuary, Srisailam Temple, and Srisailam reservoir. Reddy urged the Union Minister to approve the corridor to resolve the pending clearances.
Furthermore, Reddy explained the urgent need to sanction a six-lane alternative highway from Mancherial to Hyderabad, which would serve as an alternative to the existing Rajiv Highway. The Chief Minister assured that the state government would undertake the necessary land acquisition for the project, noting that the new highway would create fresh opportunities for both agriculture and business.
The meeting concluded with the Chief Minister emphasizing the state's readiness to cooperate on land acquisition and other requirements to expedite these vital connectivity projects.
