Revanth Reddy Launches Smart Ration Cards in Sangareddy, Details Welfare Schemes

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched the state's first-ever smart ration cards at an event in Sangareddy, urging citizens to compare the performance of the Congress government with the past regimes of the BJP at the Centre and the BRS in Telangana.

Addressing the gathering, Revanth Reddy stated that the vision of his administration was to ensure that no poor person suffers from hunger under Indiramma Rajyam, noting that new beneficiaries were being added to the public distribution system. He challenged former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to discuss governance records in the Assembly, asserting that both the BJP and the BRS functioned similarly.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister defended schemes including the supply of fine rice, Indiramma housing, and Aarogyasri. He noted that providing fine rice to households had led to a price decrease in the open market. He also stated that the state is providing 24-hour uninterrupted free electricity to farmers across villages alongside financial aid.

Detailing agricultural support, Revanth Reddy said the government is providing a Rs 500 bonus for fine paddy and increased the annual Rythu Bharosa assistance by Rs 2,000 to Rs 12,000, depositing Rs 36,000 crore into farmers’ accounts under the scheme. He added that the administration spent Rs 21,000 crore to waive farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh, and transferred Rs 90,000 crore directly to farmers for paddy procurement, bringing total expenditure on farmers to Rs 1.7 lakh crore.

On housing and employment, the Chief Minister said the government sanctioned 700,000 Indiramma houses over two years, contrasting this with the previous administration's double-bedroom housing promises. He also stated that 72,000 government vacancies had been filled, with notifications issued for another 10,000 posts, and urged unemployed youths to focus on exam preparations rather than political rhetoric.

Revanth Reddy also addressed political opponents, dismissing alleged occult rituals being performed against the state government and expressing confidence in divine support, noting that the Sripada Yellampalli reservoir remained full despite El Nino conditions.
