Revanth Reddy Inaugurates Sanathnagar TIMS, Pledges 10,000 Hospital Beds by 2027

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday inaugurated the Dr MCR Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospital at Sanathnagar in Hyderabad, announcing that the government aims to add 10,000 hospital beds across public healthcare facilities by December 9, 2027.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Chief Minister said the state government had taken up the completion of pending hospital projects, including TIMS facilities at Sanathnagar, LB Nagar, and Alwal, as well as the Warangal Super Speciality Hospital. He promised that the government would complete one major hospital every six months to expand quality healthcare for poor patients.

Revanth Reddy announced that the new Osmania General Hospital, LB Nagar TIMS, Alwal TIMS, and the Warangal Super Speciality Hospital are scheduled to be fully ready by December 9, 2027, collectively providing approximately 10,000 beds. He stated that each hospital would have an independent director and be managed on par with corporate healthcare facilities, alongside dedicated funds for patient attendant amenities.

To retain medical talent in public service, the Chief Minister directed the health minister to formulate an incentive system for doctors who spend extra hours in state-run hospitals and conduct more surgeries under the Aarogyasri scheme and the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF). He noted that the initiative aims to encourage doctors to focus on government service over private practice.

According to the Chief Minister, the government has spent ₹2,700 crore under Aarogyasri and ₹2,526 crore through CMRF, totalling ₹5,226 crore in medical support for the poor since taking office. In addition, ₹21,800 crore has been allocated and spent on the Health and Medical Department over the past two years.

Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy noted that Alwal TIMS is slated for completion by Dasara, while LB Nagar TIMS is expected to be ready by December. He added that over 20 per cent of work on the new Osmania General Hospital project has been completed.

Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha stated that the administration is committed to elevating public hospital services to the standards of corporate hospitals. During the event, the Chief Minister also launched the TG Safe and Aarogya Deepika Polyclinic services.

The programme was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, TIMS Director Dr Narendra Kumar, alongside local legislators, senior officials, and medical personnel.
