Revanth Reddy Greets Athletes on National Sports Day, Recalls Major Dhyan Chand

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended his warm wishes to all sportspersons and sports enthusiasts in Hyderabad and across the region on the occasion of National Sports Day.

National Sports Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, whose legacy remains a benchmark in Indian sports history.

In his message, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed hope that every sportsperson would draw inspiration from the life and achievements of the hockey maestro. He encouraged athletes to set clear goals and work toward achieving victory through determination, self-confidence, and continuous practice.

Major Dhyan Chand brought immense pride to the nation through his extraordinary mastery of hockey, which played a pivotal role in securing Olympic gold medals at the Amsterdam Olympic Games in 1928, the Los Angeles Games in 1932, and the Berlin Games in 1936.

Leaders from Andhra Pradesh also paid tributes on the occasion. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan remembered Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary and extended their greetings to athletes, sportspersons, coaches, and sports enthusiasts celebrating National Sports Day.
