Revanth Reddy Gives Congress Leaders 10 Day Ultimatum on Electoral Roll Campaigns

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday issued a stern warning and a 10-day ultimatum to Congress leaders in Hyderabad to step up awareness campaigns regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The Chief Minister made it clear that constituency in-charges who fail to comply with this directive will face immediate replacement from their positions.

The ultimatum was delivered during an online meeting that brought together a wide range of party leadership. Attendees included ministers, MPs, MLCs, MLAs, constituency in-charges, and senior party leaders. Among the prominent figures present were AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud.

During the virtual address, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stressed that protecting voting rights must be treated as a top political priority for the party. He directed ministers to take greater responsibility for the specific districts assigned to them and to ensure that these awareness programmes successfully reach every eligible voter across the state.

The Chief Minister cautioned that the deletion of names from electoral rolls could have wider, damaging consequences, particularly for the vulnerable sections of society. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the current level of effort, noting that some leaders are being negligent about the SIR.

"The SIR issue is a serious matter. Some leaders are being negligent about the SIR. I will not remain a silent spectator when the party suffers damage," Revanth Reddy said. He further revealed that he has already received district-wise reports regarding the SIR awareness meetings conducted by the in-charge leaders.

Calling for an intensified campaign across Telangana, the Chief Minister stated that every single constituency must witness extensive outreach activities. He emphasized that ministers must personally oversee these programmes to ensure they are executed effectively.
